Virtual Show Terms & Conditions

  1. This competition is meant to be fun and help our registered Suffolk breeders promote their stud animals that they have put so much time and energy into.
  2. This is the first Suffolk Virtual Show brought about by Covid-19. This show will be organised and run by the Suffolk Sheep Breeders Association of Victoria. (SSBAV)
  3. The SSBAV shall be sole arbiter of the entries. The SSBAV reserves the right to reject any entry that it deems unsuitable and its decision in this respect will be final and may not be appealed.
  4. Entries are free for all members of the SSBAV. Entry fee for all non SSBAV members is set at $5.00 per class entered.
  5. Grand champion Ram, Grand Champion Ewe and the Supreme Suffolk Exhibit will receive a cash prize.
  6. Entries are open to ASSBA Registered Suffolk Sheep Breeders and the animals must have been bred by the exhibitor showing in the virtual show.
  7. The exhibitor must be the owner of any animal entered in Classes.
  8. The competition shall be limited to 9 entries per stud/exhibitor. While each exhibitor may submit only one entry in each class, they may enter a maximum of 9 entries in total.
  9. To enter, exhibitors must agree to the terms and conditions on the completed entry form if emailed to secretary@suffolk-vic.org.au with a photo and video clip (up to 30 seconds or 50mb). If submitting your entry online you will need to read and agree to the terms and conditions, along with a photograph and a short video clip (up to 30 seconds or 50mb) for each animal entered. All entries will need to be submitted by the 14th of August 2020.
  10. Photographs and videos of animals entered in the classes must have been taken within the last 4 weeks before the virtual show deadline as of the 14th of August 2020 and have a wool length no longer than 10mm. Landscape with a side on view preferred for still photos. Photographs taken at shows, or with ribbons/rosettes on, may not be submitted to avoid bias or identification of the entry. There must be no people in the photograph or short video. The photographs entered in Classes may be taken by a professional photographer but, if so, this must be disclosed by the exhibitor on the entry form. Copyright must be respected, and the judges will be trying to assess the animal not the photographs.
  11. Photographs must not have been digitally enhanced.
  12. Videos of the animal to be taken in an enclosed yard walking freely. The video should include a 360 Degree of the exhibit approximately 3metres from the sheep. Video to include the rear view to the nose (sheep centre line) approximately 1metre from the sheep, Testicles view from 500mm away, Teeth to be viewed 500mm away.
  13. Each animal/photograph entered in Classes must be identified as follows: Class No. Entered, Animal’s Name, Registration/Identity No., Date of Birth, Current weight, Sire and Dam. The Exhibitor’s Name, Stud Name, Address and other contact details must also be provided with each entry.
  14. Any animal entered in Classes must be alive and currently in the ownership of the exhibitor.
  15. The animal must be certified (by the exhibitor) as eligible for the class in which it is entered.
  16. The exhibitor certifies that the animal represented in the photograph and short video submitted with the entry is in fact the animal to which the details provided in the entry
  17. Details of exhibits entered in Classes, other than date of birth and weight, will not be made available on the website or to the judging panel until all judging is completed. The SSBAV website and Facebook page will be updated with results and the judge’s comments after the completion of judging on the 21st of August.
  18. Exhibitors (all Classes) may submit entry forms and photographs downloading directly to the website or by email to secretary@suffolk-vic.org.au. Where photographs are submitted by email, they must be in jpg format, no greater than 2mb.
  19. Two judges will adjudicate. The decision of the judging panel will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  20. Virtual Certificates will be emailed out to winners of the first three placings in each class.
  21. In submitting an entry in any Class of this competition, the exhibitor authorises the Suffolk Sheep Breeders Association of Victoria to publish the photograph corresponding to that entry on the SSBAV website and to use/publish the photograph in any subsequent SSBAV promotional material or activities. If used by the Suffolk Sheep Breeders Association of Victoria in this way outside the competition, the source of the photograph will be appropriately acknowledged as to source.
