VICTORIAN SUFFOLK EWE AUCTION – ENTRY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. The Victorian Suffolk ewe auction is open to commercial and stud Suffolk breeders.
  2. The Auction will run sequentially with AuctionsPlus.
  3. Vendors must enter ewes into the auction via the online entry form at www.suffolk-vic.org.au. There is no limit on the number of ewes entered.
  4. The vendor will have the opportunity to enter two quality flock rams with the entry of ewes.
  5. The age range for ewes to be entered is from 2017 to 2022.
  6. There is a minimum weight requirement of 40kg for ewe lambs and 55kg for hoggets and older.
  7. An entry fee for commercial ewes is $6 per head (GST inc). Lot sizes from 5 to 15 head.
  8. The entry fee for a specially selected ewes is $25 per head (GST inc). Lot sizes of 2 to 3 head. All to be sold together.
  9. The entry fee for a flock/commercial ram is $25per head (GST inc).
  10. Vendors must be paid members of the SSBAV, membership payment can be made at the time of entry into the Suffolk ewe auction. Commercial membership is $25 and Stud membership is $45
  11. All rams/ewes entered into the auction must be the bona-fide property of the vendor. If the ewe has been entered as a specially selected ewe the vender must be a current registered breeder with the ASSBA or ASA.
  12. Sheep will need to be presented true to Suffolk type.
  13. All vendors must provide a National Vendors Declaration (NVD) and a National Sheep Health Statement by the 27th of January 2023.
  14. Animals will be penned according to their MN status in order for animals to maintain SheepMAP status.
  15. Following entry, vendors must provide individual lot data via the provided excel file including lot size, lot name (stud prefix or eartag), date of birth, link to pedigree on Lambplan or pedigree(if it is a specially selected ewe), photographs and /or videos (must be YouTube link) for all lots entered into the auction.   16. The Committee shall have the right to determine the order, manner and management of the auction.
  17. The vendors can have their ewes assessed by their own agents prior to the sale so weights and assessments can be uploaded to AuctionsPlus.
  18. The Committee in no way warrants the condition, quality or performance of any lots offered for sale, and the vendor agrees to indemnify the Suffolk Sheep Breeders Association of Victoria (SSBAV), Australian Stud Breeders of Australia (ASSBA) and the Australian Suffolk Association (ASA) and keep them indemnified in respect of any claim that may be made by any person in respect of condition, quality, performance or state of health of the animals entered into the auction.
  19. All lots sold will be subject to 8% agent commission.
  20. A refund of entry fees will be allowed for any withdrawal of entries prior to the closing date for entries (14th January). Refund of entry fees for withdrawal of entries after the closing date can be submitted in writing to the Secretary and will be made at the discretion of the committee. The Committee’s decision will be final.
  21. Closing date for entries is strictly Saturday 14th of January 2023.
