VICTORIAN SUFFOLK EWE AUCTION – ENTRY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. This Suffolk ewe auction is open to commercial and stud Suffolk breeders.
  2. Vendors must enter ewes into the auction via the online entry form that will be emailed to you once registration has been completed. There is no limit on the number of ewes entered. The vendor will have the opportunity to enter one quality flock or stud ram either a 2023 or 2022 drop with the entry of ewes.
  3. The age range for ewes to be entered is from 2019 to 2023. There is a minimum weight requirement of 40kg for ewe lambs and 55kg for hoggets and older.
  4. An entry fee for commercial ewes is $6 per head. Lot sizes from 3 to 10 head.
  5. The entry fee for a specially selected ewe is $25 per head. Lot sizes of 2 to 3 head of specially selected ewes will be sold together or the option of pick of the pen. The entry fee for a flock/commercial or stud ram is $25 per head. (GST inclusive) They will be sold at the end of the Auction.
  6. Vendors must be financial members of the SSBAV, membership payment can be made at the time of entry into the Suffolk ewe auction. Commercial membership is $25 and Stud membership is $50
  7. All rams/ewes entered into the auction must be the bona-fide property of the vendor. If the ewe has been entered as a specially selected ewe the vender must be a current registered breeder with the ASSBA or ASA.
  8. Sheep will need to be presented true to Suffolk type.
  9. All vendors must provide a National Vendors Declaration (NVD) and a National Sheep Health Statement by the 25th of January 2024.
  10. Animals will be penned according to their MN status in order for animals to maintain SheepMAP status.
  11. Entries are to be uploaded via the website. The data, information, Lambplan links, photos, pedigree cards and YouTube video links will be forwarded onto AuctionsPlus. It is the responsibility of the vendor to make sure that this information is correct. If there are any questions please contact Deva Weitman via email – info@suffolk-vic.org.au
  12. The Committee shall have the right to determine the order, manner and management of the auction.
  13. The vendors can have their ewes assessed by their own agents prior to the sale so weights can be uploaded to AuctionsPlus.
  14. The Committee in no way warrants the condition, quality or performance of any lots offered for sale, and the vendor agrees to indemnify the Suffolk Sheep Breeders Association of Victoria (SSBAV), Australian Suffolk Stud Breeders of Australia (ASSBA) and the Australian Suffolk Association (ASA) and keep them indemnified in respect of any claim that may be made by any person in respect of condition, quality, performance or state of health of the animals entered into the auction.
  15. All lots sold will be subject to 8% agent commission. A Pass in fee will be charged at $5 for commercial ewes and $10 for specially selected ewes and rams.
  16. Private sales after the auction are to go through the selling agent.
  17. A refund of entry fees will be allowed for any withdrawal of entries prior to the closing date for entries (13th January). Refund of entry fees for withdrawal of entries after the closing date can be submitted in writing to the Secretary and will be made at the discretion of the committee. The Committee’s decision will be final.
  18. Agents will be on hand to help pen from 7am. All Vendors must be at the Kyneton Sale Yards and unloaded by 10am. There will be no exceptions.
  19. Closing date for entries is strictly Saturday 13th of January 2024.
