Joe Spicer of GoGetta Kelpie Stud has had vast experience breeding and training working dogs – having sold his city business to learn about working dogs on cattle and sheep stations across Australia over 25 years ago.

Joe has worked with the best and taken his skills into trials where valuable lessons were learned.

Having won Australian Yard Dog Champion five times, Joe now runs “train the trainer” workshops – and he attributes this as having honed his knowledge and skills further.

Joe will be speaking and demonstrating at the Suffolk field day this May and kindly offers us the opportunity to gain an insight into the value of the working dog, it’s mindset and training technique basics.

He brings a couple of his students to demonstrate (and entertain) how livestock can be worked effectively while maintaining a low stress environment where the welfare of the herd animal is not impacted but the stress levels of the farmer remain low!
